Leading digital ink manufacturer, NUtec recently hosted GIGA members at its solvent, UV and water-based ink plants in Cape Town, South Africa.

The GIGA group was started in the Netherlands in 1999 by founding member, Andre America. The objectives behind the formation of the association are to service national and international clients through its network; to combine research and development resources for new and innovative products; and to create a forum to debate the processes and techniques that are continually appearing in the market.

In its’ 20 years in existence, GIGA has strategically grown its core membership which now includes 19 member companies operating across five continents. GIGA members meet twice yearly at different locations and in different countries, affording the group the opportunity to explore new markets, applications and technologies in each new environment.

GIGA President, Andre America states, “GIGA today has a combined buying power of US$120 million which enables our members to access opportunities that could otherwise be cost-restrictive. In addition, members value the friendships that develop where expertise in departments like HR, Finance and Marketing can also be shared.”

Blake Currie, MD of the Clarion Group in South Africa notes, “GIGA membership has allowed Clarion to align with global print industry professionals enabling rapid transfer of knowledge as well as giving us access to larger multi-national projects. “
