Required Consumables

  • NUtec Cleaning Solution*
  • Lint free cloths
  • Swabs

NUtec MF Cleaning Solution is to be used on printers with Epson or Ricoh GH2220 based printers.
NUtec MF+ Cleaning Solution is to be used in most other printers.

This guide is extremely important to follow on a day to day basis by the customer. It outlines how to manage the inks on a daily, weekly, and longer basis, which includes shutting down of the machines during these periods.

NOTE: It is important to follow the daily and weekly preventative maintenance guidelines as defined by the machine manufacturer. Performing preventative maintenance on the machine improves the longevity of the ink delivery system parts and assists in the optimum performance of the machine together with the ink.

DAILY

  • Cleaning the wipers
  • Cleaning the caps in the maintenance station
  • Cleaning edges of the printhead faceplate.

WEEKLY

  • Flushing the caps in the maintenance station
  • Cleaning the spitting sponges.

NOTE: The above functions are only a guide; read through the maintenance guide of your printer carefully to ensure that the correct maintenance procedures are completed.

Daily

Start up:

  • Perform nozzle status.
  • If nozzles are missing, perform a cleaning function.

During the day, if required:

  • Perform nozzle status.
  • If nozzles are missing, perform a cleaning function.

NOTE: It is important to maintain a good nozzle status. If nozzles are missing, ensure they are recovered. If this is not done, nozzles may become permanently blocked. If you are unable to recover the nozzle status, contact your dealer.

Shut Down

Overnight:

  • Follow maintenance procedure as defined by the machine manufacturer.
  • Shut down machine. Switch OFF power to the machine.
  • After weekend shut down period, follow “Daily Start-up” above.

Weekend up to 2 weeks:

  • Follow the machine manufacturer’s maintenance procedures
  • Shut down machine and switch OFF power to the machine
  • After weekend shut down period, follow “Daily Start-up” above

More than 2 weeks:

  • Use the appropriate NUtec Cleaning Solution
  • Remove the ink from the main ink tanks

NOTE: Ensure the main ink tanks are cleaned properly with NUtec Cleaning Solution and lint free cloth

  • Fill the main tanks with NUtec Cleaning Solution
  • Purge ink lines completely with NUtec Cleaning Solution, from the main tank through the print head until flush is transparent
  • Ensure ink tanks are filled above the minimum level with NUtec Cleaning Solution
  • Shut down machine and switch OFF power to the machine

Removal of flush:

  • Remove the NUtec Cleaning Solution from the main ink tanks and replace with ink
  • Purge enough ink through ink lines to ensure no influence on nozzle stability because of residual flush
  • Follow “Daily Start-up” above.
